At Pak Pumps, we specialise in the diagnosis and repair for any type of water pump. If your pump is either constantly running, very noisy, leaking or not starting at all - you may have a problem with one of the following:

1. Issues with the pressure controller

2. Worn-out motor bearings

3. Leaking mechanical seal or casing, or

4. A faulty starting capacitor

Rest assured however, as these are common and inevitable wearing parts on water pumps. Like cars, water pumps do have wearing parts and it's important to be proactive where possible with servicing your water pump or pool pump.

Problem: Your pump won't turn off, even when taps are off. Or your pump won't start up again

Likely causes:

1. Faulty Pressure Switch

2. Worn-out contactors in the switch from starting and stopping frequently

3. Leaking Pipework

4. Leaking cistern in toilet

Motor Bearing Replacement

Problem: Your pump is much noisier than usual, or making a squealing sound. Or your pump won't start .Likely causes:

1. Worn out bearings

2. Collapsed or fully seized bearings

Mechanical Seal Replacement

Likely causes:

1. Worn out mechanical seal

Leaking Pump Casing

Problem: Your pump is leaking out the pump housing or anywhere around the pump

Likely causes:

1. Worn out mechanical seal

2. Cracked pump housing

3. Faulty o-ring seal in the pump casing

Faulty Starting Capacitor

Problem: Your pump won't start at all. Or your pump is making a electrical humming sound
